This Blanca found a new home, check out the really nice 96 Conde Negra if you are looking for a great Conde... This Conde is one of the "good ones" -- from the Felipe V shop, beautiful wood selection, masterful craftsmanship, transparent (not orange) lacquer, thinly and expertly applied. This is the model the pros play, originally imported to New York, and selected by the previous owner from many to find the best one. The sound is bold, powerful, bright, cutting, very flamenco, quintessentially Conde. The scale is 665, what most of the professionals prefer. While you might at first think this could be too long for you, remember that flamenco is almost always played with a cejilla, and that with the capo at even the first fret, the scale becomes less than 650 -- so questions of reach are not nearly as important in flamenco as classical. The longer scale does give the added benefit of greater resonance, since the strings must be at a slightly higher tension to come to pitch at the their longer length. This added power can be felt no matter where the cejilla is, and is probably the most important reason that Paco, Gerardo, Chicuelo, Nino Josele and Moraito all play long scale Condes. A truly professional instrument, it will stand up to the strongest attack without breaking up. In excellent condition, with very minor playing wear. If you've been holding out for a great Conde, this could be the one you've been waiting for, and it is offered here at a price well below other dealers. ©2007 Classic Guitars International • All rights reserved |
