Gerundino's are treasured for their soulful/musical qualities. While construction finesse always appears very 'hand-made', the sound is what it is always about with these guitars. Paco Pena is perhaps the best known player of these guitars. With the unfortunate passing of Gerundino the Flamenco guitar world lost a truly great and irreplaceable builder. Since then, his guitars have begun to catch the eye of collectors even more. But always it has been players who see these guitars in their best light. A wonderful combination of musical yet very essentially Flamenco qualities that are often described as somewhat "mysterious". This guitar would be well described by that term as well, and is in very good condition with only minor playing wear. No cracks or repairs and the original French Polish is fine. The basses are serious! And trebles balance with them well, combining to produce a sound that can be bold and 'in your face' or quiet and contemplative. Such are Gerundino's, truly in a class by themselves. ©2006 Classic Guitars International • All rights reserved |
