This is a tremendous Rod, punchy and raw, excellent volume, comfortable action, and a tone that can only come from a well aged spruce top and years of good playing -- everything is there. Rodriguez flamencos always sound great, but this one has a little more bass power than some others I've had, which is a nice addition. I recently had German Rubio touch up the French polish on this guitar, and I'm pleased to say it looks spectacular, to match the sound. The guitar has a well-repaired crack on the side of the upper bout and has some playing wear, pretty minor for its age, but other than this, it is in superb condition, especially now. The tuners are a nice set of Sloanes with genuine mother of pearl buttons - they don't make these anymore - though the guitar comes with its original Fustero tuners in good working condition, if the new owner would like to reinstall them. In all, a chance to own a superb 60's Rodriguez in beautiful condition, a rare and wonderful find for the performer and collector alike. ©2006 Classic Guitars International • All rights reserved |
