Arcangel retired in 2011 and moved to the Canary Islands, with the best wishes of his many fans. He honored me by building me the last Negra and last Blanca that he was to build. So sadly we'll see no more guitars from this Maestro. Fortunately I still get fine examples from time-to-time, and this guitar, while well used, is one of them. This is one of those great guitars that seems to be passed from one friend to another over the years. For a long time it was the personal guitar of famous luthier Robert Ruck, who also builds killer Flamenco guitars (check out Gerardo Nunez playing a Ruck on the Carlos Saura film "Iberia" where Gerardo plays his Ruck while performing 'Almeria'). Bob and I have known each other for years and when he finally decided to let go of this little gem, he was kind enough to call me. I bought it for my own use and enjoyed it for quite a while as my own personal guitar, before i passed it along to my client. She is now ready to continue her journey after delighting my client for several years, and so YOU could be next :-) This Arcangel has a delightful musical voice, very Flamenco but like all Arcangel's maybe more lyrical than say a Reyes and nicely 'opened' up. It has a very quick response and great tone and an uber easy action. Bob and I both enjoyed this guitar very much when it was our own personal guitar. It is nice to 'visit' with her again. It has had some work done on it, so it may not be a flawless collectors guitar, but it is a GREAT players guitar, and as you can see priced accordingly too. Bob Ruck tells me that the original owner was Leo Heredia and that he understood all the maintenance and repairs were performed by Arcangel himself. There are several well executed repairs under the top, call for details. A great Arcangel for any player, and priced extremely well...
