The son of the great Marcelo Barbero, Marcelo Barbero hijo as he is called, worked side-by-side with another flamenco guitar building legend, Arcangel Fernandez for many years. He has a small but somewhat avid ‘cult’ following probably for this reason and his guitars pop up from time-to-time. You can hear and feel the influence of Barbero and Arcangel in the best of his guitars. This one is in fairly good condition considering it’s age. Some playing wear and buckle marks let you know it has seen it’s share of days in the Tablao, but it has good bones. Great for accompanying Cante, it was owned by a professional guitarist/singer who acquired and fell in love with an old Esteso, and so is selling this guitar. Definitely the old style in the spirit of his father and Arcangel, his maestro, a guitar with similar flavor to those of the greats, but at a much much lower price.
