This like new Ruck Blanca is fantastic. As you probably already know, Bob is a darn good Flamenco player, and he even travels to Spain as often as he can to study with Gerardo Nunez. He understands how to make a fine Flamenco. This Blanca also has two 'sound ports' (see the enlargements by clicking on the photo image to the left of this text). Ruck has built several Blanca's with sound ports including the Ruck Blanca that Gerardo played on the Saura Film "Iberia" upon which he played the piece 'Almeria'. Removing the custom fitted port caps (made of boxwood) instantly adds to the character of the guitar giving it an even more open and lively personality. Ports open, or ports closed, the guitar is a fireball either way. Quick, percussive, snappy and with a lightning fast action, a really great Ruck Blanca. Bob tells me the spruce is Engelmann 4A from 1981, a great soundboard. The Back and sides he says are of extremely old Spanish Cypress and the guitar is in literally like new condition. The scale is a comfortable 650mm with a 52mm nut and a very low and quick action that has room, though it is not needed, to go even lower. The Rosette is hand made of course in the Arabic style and the guitar is fitted with Gotoh inlayed tuners. Listen to Gerardo play his Ruck Blanca very much like this one, ports and all, on the Saura film and you'll get an impression of this guitar. Please call me to discover more...
