2006 Manuel Bellido
Top: Spruce
Back and Sides: Spanish Cypress
Origin: Spain
Price: SOLD

Tomatito, Vicente Amigo and others have ordered a Bellido guitar, and he is a 'well kept' secret in Spain. I would place Bellido (along with Plazuelo) as my favorite Flamenco builder next to Manuel Reyes at this time, and Bellido guitars are less than a third of what a Reyes costs! Very flamenco and wonderful to play. Bellido Blanca's are unique in the sense that they sound like a cross between a Blanca and a Negra, so you get a bit of both. The trebles are 'fat' and full and basses punchy and present so they are great for accompanying. Yet, they have rich sustain and beautiful tone, so solo pieces sound wonderful too. Having seen and heard many of these guitars owned by my clients over the years I can also attest to the fact that they 'play-in' incredibly well. In other words if you like this Bellido today, you will absolutely love it after a year or two of play. This guitar will please even the most demanding of flamenco players and it is no wonder that his guitars are so prized by players 'in the know' in Spain.
