This fine Friederich has found a new home, if you are looking for a Friederich, or a Friederich-like Dominique Delarue please let me know.... I was fortunate to recently have a beautiful absolutely mint like new 04 Friederich here in the shop recently, which quickly sold of course. I noted the following comments about Daniel: Daniel Friederich is one of the finest builders in the world by anybody's account, just one of those irrefutable facts that everyone happily agrees with. The list of builders influenced by him is vast, in fact Matthias Dammann tells me Friederich was one of his main inspirations and he owned and played a 1968 Friederich which he dearly loved. A good friend of mine recently visited Daniel and tells me that he is in fantastic health, great spirits, and still has a lot of 'spring' in his step, so much so that my friend, who is much younger, really had to work to keep up with him during their walk about the city, so I think we can all look forward to hearing guitars from this legend hopefully for many years to come. This guitar is owned by a player who has enjoyed it for years, it is a players guitar, and by that I mean well played in, and that it has some generalized light playing wear on the top. The back and sides are very clean. No cracks or repairs that I can discern other than that the owner prefers an 'oil finished' neck and so that is what the guitar has at this time. For fan braced fans, and I am among them, there are few guitars with a voice as rich and textured as a Friederich. This guitar has a beautiful openness and a layered complexity to its rich warm cedar voice. Really lovely as the best Friederich guitars are. I always enjoy his instruments and they appear in the shop all to rarely, a very very nice sounding Friederich destined for a player. |
