WOW! Jim has been building some of the finest double tops in the world for a number of years but he has really hit new highs the last year or so, and this guitar is quite simply one of the most spectacular double tops he has built. He originally had acquired a Dammann from me,which years ago, served as an inspiration for Jim’s own interpretation of the double top guitar. Over the years he has demonstrated an amazing skill in understanding the double top design, and as recently as this year he was continuing to refine his guitars so that they produce the tonal colors and character he has in his mind. His double top guitars, like this one, and also his ergonomic ‘wave’ double top, have become extraordinarily popular particularly in the USA, France, and Australia, and growing elsewhere.

This guitar has stunning volume, supernatural response, flawless balance, Jim’s trademark basses, and nice fat round trebles. The voice is unique, like Jim, and has a tonal character that sets it apart from all other double tops. The tone is cedar-like to be sure, yet crisp and clear with superb separation, lovely overtones that create a rippling pond over which the fundamental note glides effortlessly. Just think about touching the strings, and the notes fly off, it is that responsive.
