This magnificent 30th Anniversary Paco Santiago Marin has found a new home, if you would like to acquire a Paco Santiago Marin guitar please give me a call so we can chat... If you ask anyone in the guitar world of Granada, Spain "Who is the best builder in Granada" they would most likely flip a coin and say 'Heads is Paco Santiago Marin, tails is Antonio Marin Montero". And so it has been for years and years. Paco (Fransisco) Santiago Marin worked in the shop of his uncle (Antonio Marin Montero ) for ten years before opening his own shop in the early '70's, since then his reputation has expanded to international proportions and his guitars are highly prized worldwide. I recently visited Paco in his shop where he and his son now work together, and he agreed to build this exquisite example of his top of the line '30th Anniversary Model'. Built in the Bouchet style, and using his finest and oldest woods, Paco tells me that this model is the culmination of decades of experience expressed with loving care and using the finest materials that he has. The top is of fine European Spruce and the Rosewood back has the signature panel of beautiful dark ebony that signifies this model. The tone is very evocative of a fine Marin, with a pure Spanish melodic nature, and well balanced clarity, combining to create a most beautiful and soul stirring voice. That said, this guitar, as his guitars are known for, has an abundance of power and projection as well, so much so that at first play you might suspect a fine lattice guitar instead of the traditional fan braced guitar that it actually is. A superior blend of spanish character and modern level projection and volume. I loved playing this guitar, it responds deftly and pleases immensely. Paco utilized Alessi tuners on this guitar, and added a 20th half fret as well. I can't imagine a person, no matter what their preference might be, who would not love this instrument.
