Michel Brück, firmly among the ranks of the world's finest double top builders, is now in such demand that his waiting list has grown to more than ten years at this time. If you have been following him over the last few years you have no doubt heard him compared to Dammann and other fine double top builders, and now he has really perfected his own sound and carved out his own very special and wonderfully unique 'voice' that sets his guitars apart from all other double tops and makes them specifically a "Brück". I am so pleased that he is kind enough to provide me with a new guitar from time to time, my clients snap them up faster than I am able to get them, another testimony to Michel's unflinching quest for perfection in every aspect of his instruments.

Most of you know I have a fondness, like many players, for double top Spruce guitars. This is the first Spruce double top that Michel has sent to me and I was like a kid at Christmas waiting for it to arrive. Michel had whetted my appetite by sharing with me that he personally logged the Spruce for this guitar in Austria the late '90's. Once he returned to his shop and measured the specific features of the wood he immediately realized he had a special gem to work with, very special Spruce. He carefully aged it all these years, and now is using it on his spruce instruments.

When the guitar arrived and I tuned it up I was immediately transfixed by the voice of this instrument. This is the kind of guitar that gives us goosebumps, powerful yet capable of deep intimacy, exquisite complexity and yet capable of crystal clarity. The voice shimmers and dances with honey colored sweetness and the voices mingle beautifully as if you could hear the concentric rings caused by several pebbles tossed into a calm pool of water as they playfully intersect. What images this guitar invokes. I just love it.

Playability is always refined, very very comfortable action enhanced by the elevated fret board above the 12th fret. Superbly French Polished, and elegantly constructed, it is standard setting craftsmanship. Michel used a fine set of Rodgers tuners, and added a twelve hole tie block, always a good idea in my opinion.
