This fine NEW Smallman quickly found a new home. If you are a fan of Smallman guitars please give me a call so we can chat...

Maestro John Williams recently graced us here in Santa Barbara with a rare solo concert in our town. I sat in the packed audience with my own guitar instructor in our fine old "Lobero Theater" and we enjoyed the virtuosity of Williams and of course his Smallman guitar. After the concert Mr. Williams was kind enough to chat with me for a few minutes on a variety of topics, what a delightful gentleman and gifted artist. Wonderful evening for any guitar lover.

Of course what would a John Williams concert be if not also for his remarkable Smallman guitar. I must say over the years I have had an on again off again love affair with Smallman guitars, but after being fortunate enough to have several new ones pass through the shop last year, I am definitely in the 'love' phase again! The Smallman and Son's guitars I have seen lately have just been remarkable instruments. Tonally they have really hit their stride, full and rich and round, undeniably 'Smallman' but the recent guitars really have a refinement and beauty to them that is remarkable. This guitar is like that as well, another fine new Smallman, just received (though the label says 2010 as it was placed on the back before the guitar was finished in 2011 apparently). Full and rich and round, as I said, with an enormous presence that is uniquely Smallman. Volume and projection really are unparalleled, almost scary loud, highly impressive.

Playability is supreme and the unique and soooo easy to use adjustable action is just one of the nicest features you'll ever experience on a classical guitar. This guitar sports a Karura carbon fiber case, and Baljak tuners as well. Great Smallman.
