Fritz's double tops are garnering praise in many circles, and well deserved praise too. This has resulted in his waiting list growing to more than three years at this time. I have placed his double tops all over the world, pleasing as far away as China, and all over the USA as well. A client of mine recently sent me a CD recorded by Isaac Bustos on a 2004 Cedar Fritz Mueller double top and it is a very nice recording, the guitar sounds great ( as does Isaac). This guitar is a real treat, I sat down to enjoy it and found as always that I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. She has a gorgeous voice, haunting, deep, dark, rich and with delightful sustain and notable volume and projection of course. The elevated fingerboard and overall action is "like butter" as my former guitar teacher and friend Adam DelMonte used to say, just very easy. Fritz is like an alchemist somehow amalgamating that perfect blend of old and new, traditional and contemporary, in his own unique and easy to appreciate manner, really very wonderful double tops.

The comfortable neck carve makes playing effortless ( the neck is oiled and feels great to the touch). The guitar has top quality Graf tuners which are so precise and accurate that they will spoil you. Fritz also utilizes a twelve hole tie block to secure the strings, a feature I particularly like to see on double top guitars and a compensated saddle as well. Fritz, like Robert Ruck and others, likes the sound port concept and this guitar has a sound port properly located on the side, near the neck. There is some controversy over whether sound ports really create any effect at all, but all you have to do is play some with the port open, then have a friend cover the port while you play and you can quite easily hear the enhanced stereophonic effect that the port produces when it is the right size and in the proper location. I find it very inspiring from the point of view of the players experience.
