Dieter has continued to evolve like many fine builders at the top of their 'game', and it seems that each guitar I get sets a new standard for him, I am incredulous at how he does this. Each guitar is wonderful and I suspect the next one will be very similar, and instead, it is even better than the last one which was already at the highest level. Dieter has really found his style and is now well settled into a building method and philosophy that produces consistently superior double top guitars. I read my write up of the last guitar below in which I said the following:

"As I have noted before I have been working with Dieter for many years. His double top guitars are among the very finest available anywhere, very reminiscent of Dammann (uber light weight for example) and yet they have a definite personality all their own. My collaboration with Dieter has been delightful and through direct and indirect contact with Matthias, combined with his own extensive background in guitar building, music (he plays both guitar and violin) and engineering (studied at the renowned Marbourg University) he has become one of the leading builders in fine double tops in Germany, and increasingly, around the world. Stephan Schmidt, for example, recorded his much lauded Bach Lute Suites with one of Dieter's 10 string guitars. Stephan has found two double top guitars that he loves, a Dammann of course, and not surprisingly, one of Dieter's double tops. He is fortunate to own one of each!

This guitar will knock your socks off with the very first note you play. The seldom equalled combination of tonal beauty and volume that is produced so effortlessly will bring a smile to the face of even the most demanding player. In the same way that Dammann's produce an 'envelope of sound' that feels as if it surrounds the player, Dieter brings the players experience to new heights. The guitar is very lightly built, again feather light like a Dammann, which along with many other factors creates a guitar that seems to emanate sound in all directions at once. He again like Dammann favors a Rosewood fingerboard as well feeling that it is a better conductor of tone than ebony among other advantages. He has incorporated a perfectly positioned elevated fingerboard, twelve hole tie block also. The top is a nomex and Cedar double top. The guitar was then French Polished (shellac).

I could not stop playing this guitar it is so inviting and I was so curious to discover its personality as I played different pieces and styles. What a delight. the trebles are round, bell like and full, and even the often troublesome G string is firm and present creating a flawless transition from the basses. Speaking of the basses, they are musical and possess luscious sustain. The overall tone is open, airy, full, and rich, very robust when desired, and intimate a moment later when you choose, flowing easily in any direction or style guided by the player. A richly rewarding double top that is sure to satisfy...."

So what can I add about this guitar? It is even better than what I described above? Simply the finest Müller yet from one of Germany's pre-eminant double top builders.
