Due to a pattern of increased requests for short scale guitars from the finest builders, you may have noticed that I have been rotating among some very fine luthiers and asking them to build a short scale, usually 640mm, guitar for those clients who are seeking a short scale guitar and are also seeking a guitar from one of the worlds finest luthiers. So Robert Ruck and Paulino Bernabe for example have provided delightful short scale guitars in recent times. So I thought I would request the same of my friend Jim Redgate! This guitar is the same design and style, i.e. Cedar lattice braced, that is played by Ana Vidovic in her new Mel Bay recording ( listen to a clip by clicking on the photo of her on my home page). I asked Jim to build this guitar with no options to help keep the price down a bit. So, if you have always loved the sound, and who doesn't, of Ana's Redgate, but you require a shorter scale, this guitar was built with you in mind. Excellent volume, delightful tone, extreme ease of play, and also not so coincidentally, just a beautiful guitar.
