| This is yet another masterpiece from Claudio. Claudio was the very first "Romanillos Selected Luthier", you can read about this honor here, and you can read more about Claudio here. His guitars are remarkably similar in tonal characteristics to a fine Romanillos as you would expect. This guitar, even though a brand new Spruce guitar, is surprisingly 'open' already and unbelievably 'sweet' sounding. She just ooozes personality and character. Extraordinarily easy to play, and with excellent volume and projection. An absolutely gorgeous guitar with tonal character and volume that match the flawless craftsmanship. Claudio doubles the sides with Maple which not only assists in creating the excellent volume, but also ads a wonderful character to the tone. The top back and sides are French Polished in Shellac at the highest level, while the neck, headstock and bridge are finished in oil. The Indian Rosewood is beautiful and more beautiful than much of the Brazilian we see these days. The rosette is a 'nod' to Romanillos, an artistic 'arches' concept which nicely accents the guitar. The detail on the tie block will blow you away. 18 hole tie block as well. One of the finest builders of Spruce fan braced instruments these days, very very evocative of a new Romanillos, Claudio is certain to become known as one of the finest builders of Spruce fan braced guitars in the world. | |
