This Argent has found a new home but I have a NEW Spruce Argent available at this time... David is so busy that it has become very difficult to get a guitar these days!! No wonder, they are very popular with my clients and have been for years. David builds in the Australian style using the parabolic arched braceless back and lattice bracing, similar to Redgate and Smallman, but in his own unique way. His early experience in engineering and CAD systems, combined with the fact that he is a player and an experienced luthier, all combine to allow him to create a musical, precise, powerful instrument of a very high caliber. It seems whenever a client in another State or Country acquires an Argent it always results in additional inquiries from the players friends who want to learn more about how to have one of their own. Each guitar is like a mini 'ambassador' that way. This Cedar guitar has a warm and rich voice with excellent volume and projection. The neck carve, as always, is a dream ( David is a player in addition to being a builder), and the musicality is lovely. A Cedar Australian lattice braced guitar that has pleased many clients for many years now. My clients seem to hold on to them too, always a good sign and it is rare that I ever have the opportunity to offer a used one for that reason. I feel fortunate to offer this guitar, which now sports a wonderful set of Graf tuners ( not shown in the photographs here) and which is in perfect as new condition. It was acquired by a very nice client of mine in 09 who had the Graf tuners installed and who loves the guitar, but as a beginning player he eventually discovered that he needed to play a short scale 640 guitar, which he now has received, and so at this time he decided to sell his Argent so that someone else could enjoy her. A fine Argent, with wonderful tone, superb tuners, and a very pleasing price as well. ©2010 Classic Guitars International - All rights reserved |
