This is a great guitar at a great price. There are three hairline tight cracks below the bridge that have been stable since I sold the guitar new in 2008, otherwise in like new condition. The guitar plays easily and has surprising volume and very nice tonal character. This is essentially an opportunity to own and play a guitar that would be about $8,500 these days but for a fraction of that price. It is a solid guitar, and while priced to acknowledge the thin tight cracks exist, they really in no way impact the sound or playability of this guitar. I recently sold a fine Rodriguez guitar with no less than nine full length cracks on the soundboard and it still commanded $15,000, it really is all about the sound. I think this is well worth the $4500 price and will allow the owner to enjoy a guitar that would normally cost twice as much. Beautiful Rosewood back and sides as well. |
