I snapped this up on my recent visit to Madrid to meet with Paulino. He brought out this guitar and just handed it to me. I played it and my jaw dropped. I looked up and Paulino was just sitting there grinning, he knew what I was going to say next "can I have this?".

Paulino built this guitar especially for clients who wanted a smaller guitar with a shorter scale, but who did not want to sacrifice volume or quality of materials and tone. He succeeded brilliantly.

He used his own real Torres as a model, and the body dimensions are based off of that guitar making it highly comfortable to hold. Then he utilized the superb and effective modified fan bracing that he reserves for his 'Especial' guitars, and completed the guitar with a supremely comfortable 640 scale, and a well aged Spruce top.

The volume and tone compare to his Imperial guitars, and I recently had a client in the shop comparing this guitar to an Imperial that I had at that time, he could not believe that they had such similar sound and volume. Being a larger player the Imperial suited his body better, but for players seeking the ultimate in comfort and sound in a short scale guitar, this is an option that should be strongly considered.

Delicious basses and musical open trebles, very balanced, and with a surprisingly strong presence. Very few of these are built by Paulino.
