As you may have noted on my "David Argent" home page, I was first intrigued by David's Spruce guitars. So much so, that this is the first Cedar guitar he has made for me. It is my opinion that Cedar is perhaps the best wood for the Australian style of building, and that is why I felt David's Spruce guitars were so unique- they sound great and bring a Spruce feel to the 'Australian sound'. But I must admit, this Cedar guitar is every bit the equal of David's Spruce instruments. Full bodied, robust presence, with excellent volume and great balance. A superb lattice braced guitar that feels at home next to the only other Australian makers my clients overwhelmingly prefer-Smallman and Redgate.
