A nicely played in guitar in like new condition but at a pre-owned price. Philip's Series I guitars are loosely based on his interpretation of Torres and Hauser concepts, exquisitely blended to create a beautiful and unique instrument. This guitar,"Madeline" demostrates why Philips guitars are so popular in Europe and why they are gaining a strong following here in the US as well. Strong clear trebles, round and full, clear and clean all through the upper registers too and complimented by basses that are present and balanced and yet can really power up when called to do so. The character is reminiscent of some of the finer Spanish guitars, think Marin-Montero which is doubly amazing considering that the Series I costs thousands less than a new Marin. A beautiful character, with a clean sound that encourages clearly articulated notes but still offers a lush emotional backdrop. ©2007 Classic Guitars International - All rights reserved |
