This guitar is simply beyond description, I would need a Thesaurus to search for the superlatives needed to describe it. So I hope you’ll excuse me while I attempt the impossible, i.e. trying to describe perfection in just a few sentences. When I received this guitar I was immediately enchanted by its stunning beauty and the flawless craftsmanship. From the superior woods to the iconic “arches of the Mezquita” design in the rosette, to the delicate and perfectly executed artistic touches found on the headstock, tie block and elsewhere, it represents the epitome of understated and elegant beauty. But it was when I sat down to play it that it’s true beauty really expressed itself. I had already turned my computer off for the night and went downstairs to play this guitar. I was so moved by what I heard that I was inspired to go back upstairs, turn my computer back on and write this email to Liam and Jose:

“ I have played many fine guitars by many fine builders. Because my ear is adjusted to such a high level I appreciate many guitars, and it takes something really out of the ordinary, something special,to cause me to pause and really take close notice. I must say your guitar is one of the very few that does that. What absolutely exquisite tone, what beautiful balance, what superb craftsmanship. For lovers of the traditional style that you teach and build in, this has to represent the pinnacle of what every builder strives to achieve. Every aspect of the guitar is superior to the point that all one can do is simply smile. What an emotional and intimately expressive voice it has. I am blown away. Thanks for this gift, one of my clients will be very lucky to play he"

I can’t express in words the beauty of tone that this guitar possesses, the only word that keeps coming to mind is ‘perfect’. The label says 2006, but the guitar was completed and delivered in 2007. The label is signed by both Jose and Liam and the guitar has been named “La Angelus”. Unequivocally one of the finest Spruce fan braced guitars I have ever had in the shop and the kind of guitar you simply can’t put down once you start to play.
