Classic Guitars International for fine classical and flamenco guitars, Chris Kamen
2007 Jose Marin Plazuelo
Top: Spruce • Sides & Back: Brazilian Rosewood
Scale: 650 mm • Origin: Spain
Price: $6,500

Plazuelo is the nephew of Antonio Marin Montero and has built guitars with his uncle, side-by-side, in the same shop in Granada, for about twenty years. If Marin is considered the "King" of the Granada builders, then certainly Plazuelo is the 'heir apparent' to his uncle's throne. This instrument is in absolutely near new condition with only the slightest hint of a few very light nail marks below the 1st string that you can only see if you angle it in the light just right. The French polish is superb, just like a Marin. In fact, if you close your eyes and play this guitar you would think you were playing a nice Marin as it has the same characteristic sound that Marin’s are known for. Although not yet fully played in yet, it already is opening up wonderfully and is very open and well balanced. Like a new Marin, only thousands less...
