I have known and worked with Dieter Mueller of Germany for more than ten years at this time. He is a highly skilled builder and up until recently was known mainly in Europe for his solid top guitars. In the past few years however Dieter has been heavily influenced by the guitars of Matthias Dammann, whom he knows, and has been building double top guitars of his own. Dieter has taken quite some time to build and experiment, using his superb knowledge, and has created his own excellent version of a Dammann inspired double top guitar. In fact, upon first glance, the feel, color and appearance of Dieter’s instruments could almost pass for a Dammann. Sound-wise there is a close similarity too, with strong yet musical basses, superb volume, and clear bell like trebles. There is little doubt in my opinion as to the high level of quality regarding Dieters double top guitars. He also utilizes an elevated fingerboard as well! And the wood, well, I defy anyone to look at it and guess anything but Brazilian Rosewood. I was fooled. Beautiful. Only by contacting Dieter did I learn it was a superb set of Madagascar Rosewood. Fooled me!
