This exquisite guitar sold to the first client who played it. Absolutely stunning. I am hoping for a new Cedar Delarue soon, please contact me for details or with any questions you have about Dominique's delightful guitars... Knowledgeable players and some of the finest Luthiers in France (including Dominique Field) consider that Dominique Delarue is likely to be considered the successor to Daniel Friederich. How’s that for something to live up to? Talk about pressure. I recently had the pleasure of sitting in the audience at the absolutely stunning new San Francisco Conservatory of Music. I was sitting with the Chairman of the guitar program, David Tanenbaum, who was hosting Ana Vidovic’s master class that day. One of the students playing for Ana began to play and David (who plays and loves Friederich guitars) leaned over and said ‘ isn’t that a great guitar, Dominique Delarue “. David was right of course, and I agree with all those who feel that Delarue will be the next Friederich. This guitar is French building at the highest level. The French Polish of shellac is just superb, the rosette is refined and beautiful and is mirrored in the tie block, and the headstock is elegant in a way that only the French can create. For a brand new Spruce guitar it is surprisingly open already, and I anticipate that it will continue to develop and open up into an even more impressive guitar over the first year or two as it is played in. I love the over-all character of Delarue’s guitars, they are warm for a Spruce guitar, and yet very articulate and clear. Extremely balanced with basses and trebles working in harmony and not fighting each other in any way. A very refined and beautiful sounding instrument. No wonder comparisons to Friederich are being made by many. Visit Dominique Delarue Homepage ©2007 Classic Guitars International • All rights reserved |
