This is an exquisite Spruce guitar from arguably the best living builder in Spain today. Paulino's guitars are sought after by some of the finest and most knowledgeable players on the planet. This guitar has excellent concert quality volume due to the doubled sides of Indian Rosewood and Paulino's creative modified fan braced system. The back and sides are of Brazilian Rosewood and the top is an excellent piece of spruce aged more than 20 years.Workmanship is standard setting quality. The tone is just beautiful, clear yet expressive and very responsive as well. The neck carve is perfect, the kind that feels 'just right' in a player's hands. A beautiful Spruce guitar with a Spanish character that almost dares you not to listen. Paulino builds his Spruce tops the 'right way', he says that in order to properly develop and 'play in' as a fine Spruce guitar should do, the top must be an ideal thickness, not too thin. He says new Spruce guitars that sound 'too good brand new' will 'play out' over the years instead of 'playing in' as the really fine guitars do. He is very emphatic about this, and the many superb Bernabe guitars now being played all over the world lend credence to his point of view on this matter.
