This is a wonderful and unique Redgate double top. It shares features of both the solid top lattice braced guitars he builds as well as having a double top. Thus it has the multi-layered parabolic braceless arched back style of his lattice model, but the top is a double top. It has a sound that combines the qualities of both styles of guitars for this reason. Jim currently has a two year wait for his guitars, so this guitar represents a good opportunity to own a Redgate double top now. The guitar has ample volume and is evenly balanced with a delightful tone. If you could imagine 'mating' a Redgate lattice braced guitar with a Redgate double top guitar, this would be the result, literally, in both form and sound. Clear purposeful trebles and strong singing basses both requiring only the lightest touch to produce excellent volume. The Brazilian is beautiful and the guitar is in like new condition with only a very slight spot you can notice in just the right light where the players arm has rested on the edge. You could easily have Jim build an arm rest which is easy to install on your own and which would cover that small area perfectly while providing an even more comfortable arm rest at the same time.
